Project 4

The air was crisp and cold that night, and my nose tingled each time the air entered. Each breath was recorded with a faint fog, and the leaves announced our presence in the woods to whomever or whatever might be lurking in the darkness around us. No matter how lightly we tried to step onto the ground we could be heard crunching through the night. The moon was in its cycle of hiding, making everything a dangerous obstacle. The screams that lingered behind us forced us to push on. Soon lights appeared in the night sky....

  1. from what appeared to be a fire ahead of us. We could hear a faint noise of what sounded to be people chanting. We cautiously walked ahead with the chanting becoming clearer…..

  2. we were scared of what we heard and what we were seeing. It was a giant circle of blood sucking vampires feasting on a fresh kill. It was a bloody carcass of a pig and their faces were covered in blood. It was hard to focus on what was happening because they were chanting about the feast and the fire was the only real light that was around. We were terrified they would smell us or even hear the sound of our hearts pounding. I really thought I was dreaming for a minute until one of the ugly creatures flew from the ground and vanished out of sight. I hoped I would die instantly, but then.....

  3. all was quiet as the blood suckers finish up the rest of their feast. I could only hear my heart pounding as one of the ugly creatures held his head high and took wiff of the air. I was frightned of the fact that it could be me that he had smelled. Then just as the other vampire flew out into the dark night sky. I didn't hear his feet touch the ground, but I had a feeling someone was behind me. As quickly as I could without making a sound I turned to find nothing, but the howling sound of the wind. Then as I watched the monsters disappear into the dark night sky all was silent. There was nothing but the distant voices of the vampires, the darkening light of their fire as the cold wind blew, and the sweet, but silent sigh of relief that I didn't have to be afraid of them any longer. Then out of nowhere.....

  4. I felt the cold clammy touch upon my skin and my blood ran icy in my veins. Never before have I been so aware of my own life force;my yearning to go on living. And then I felt the exquisite penetration of those flashing fangs and all of those silly mortal pleadings left me for good and the pleasures of the undead flesh filled me with desire for more...

  5. a survivor's elation. Without ado the vampires leaned on me I went down and went somersaulting over the hill. I stood up with a roar. All the blood in my body bulged on my face, it piled between my skull and skin, as the vampires said, you know you're going to die someday! I think

  6. Suddenly I awoke, and was glad to be done with that dreadful dream. As I get ready to start my day, I try to analyze what it was all about. Always behind and in a rush, I guess I'll have to save it for my monthly shrink visit.

  7. It's interesting that two people really changed the story. One introduced vampires and another made the main character wake up from a dream. You definitely set people up to write a scary story from the beginning. I wonder where the story would go from there?

  8. Really good lead-in for the story. Are you going to take the posed parts of the story as they are, or are you going to take some creative liberties with them? Are you going to be selective with the entries, or use them all? Still pretty interesting, especially if more people add to it.
